Even though the Seattle Seahawks didn’t secure a spot in the playoffs, some members of the team decided to celebrate their final win of the season by smoking cigars in the locker room on Sunday.
But former Seahawks punter Jon Ryan, who was part of Seattle’s Super Bowl XLVIII-winning roster, did not hold back his feelings of disappointment in the aftermath of the team’s road win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Simply stated, Ryan didn’t seem to think there was much to celebrate.
“The Seahawk way is a bit different these days I guess,” Ryan wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “I could say a lot of things right now because I’m shaking with anger but I’ll just say I’m really disappointed.”

Seahawks safety Julian Love said the cigars were gifted to him after the birth of his son, but he wanted to wait until the end of the season to smoke them with teammates. The cigars had nothing to do with the outcome of Sunday’s game or the ’23 season, Love claimed.
The Seahawks beat the Cardinals, 21–20, at State Farm Stadium to finish the season with a 9–8 record.
