Ex-Rangers ace Ryan Kent 'rejected' Scotland return chance

Former Rangers star Ryan Kent reportedly turned down the chance to return to Scotland this summer, according to reports.

The 27-year-old left the Scottish Premiership in the summer of 2023 when Michael Beale was manager.

He signed for Turkish giants Fenerbahce after long periods of speculation surrounding his future.

The winger has endured a torrid time since his switch to Istanbul, finding himself out of the team after being cast to the sidelines by then-manager Ismail Kartal.

Global star Jose Mourinho took over in the summer, but so far, Kent's fortunes have yet to change.

The ex-Liverpool academy kid has made just one appearance so far this season, which came in a Champions League qualifier in July.

It's said that Mourinho and the higher-ups at the club are keen to move Kent on.

However, media outlet Aspor reports that he rejected approaches from teams in Scotland and England this summer.

It's claimed that his representatives are attempting to terminate his contract at Fenerbahce, as he has no interest in moving to Saudi Arabia either.

He's contracted until 2027 though, so given the £5m payout the Turkish side would need to sanction to allow Kent to leave for nothing and get him off the wage bill, it seems like his contractual situation remains complicated.

Meanwhile, Rangers new boy Nedim Bajrami has been singled out by Albania boss Sylvinho after an impressive display for his country.

Albania came from behind to beat Ukraine in a neutral venue of Prague in their Nations League game and Bajrami was in fine form.

Rangers snapped him up before the transfer deadline from Sassuolo and he could make his debut this weekend away to Dundee United.

And Albania's Brazilian boss Sylvinho was impressed with the Ibrox signing.
