Ex Primark staff reveal store secrets on TikTok – and some are truly jaw-dropping

Former Primark staff have taken to TikTok to share secrets from their stores — and some of their stories are truly jaw-dropping.

TikToker @kdr1995, who says she is an former worker at the store, uploaded a funny video in which she rolls her eyes as the on-screen text reads: “When people handed in their own clothes to the fitting room and left wearing new ones from Primark when I worked there.”

She captioned the video: “Bonus point when it was their underwear.”

In the comments someone asked why the clothes were not tagged, and the uploader guessed it would probably cost too much given how cheap the clothes are.

Her video, which garnered more than 170,000 views and 7,000 likes, prompted other apparent former Primark staff members to speak out.

Finding poo seemed to be a worrying theme amongst the alleged former employees – if the comments are to be believed.

One person wrote: “Me finding a used sanitary towel stuck to the mirror when I checked the fitting rooms” along with a shocked emoji.

Another user wrote: “Someone sh*t in the fitting rooms when I worked there. It was festival weekend, wasn’t surprised.”

Another TikToker wrote: “Someone pooped in a bag on my shift and left it there.”

“In three years I’ve seen everything, from period stains in the fitting room, to pee in shoes, to used nappies in the corner, to used swapped old clothes,” another wrote.

Former Primark employees sharing insider gossip isn’t new to the platform.

TikToker Georgia Pontin has made several videos revealing the “secrets of Primark.”

She told of how, if a customer was buying a handbag, staff would have to check there wasn’t another item hidden inside. She also revealed the different department codes so when viewers next hear announcements over the in-store loudspeakers, they’ll know what they mean.

She also said if customers complimented an employee to a manager, they could win rewards.

Another former employee @victoriachicx shared that her biggest pet peeve while working at Primark was how customers would “shake out” clothes she had spent hours folding.

TikToker @rafnunez99 shared a video earlier this year making fun of the things she would hear every day, including: “Can you check the back?”

Either way, we’d take someone shaking out the clothes we just folded over dealing with someone handing us dirty clothes.

Primark isn’t the only company with former employees speaking out on TikTok. McDonald’s staff have also been letting their audience in on some company secrets.

Indy100 has reached out to Primark for comment.
