Ex-Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi and former West Brom and Barnsley manager Valerien Ismael are two names currently on the shortlist to take the job at Cardiff City.
Cardiff are looking for their third manager this season after the sackings of Steve Morison and, most recently, Mark Hudson.
The Bluebirds sit 21st in the Championship and the next manager will be tasked with getting them out of the relegation zone and stabilising the club.

And it is understood Frenchman Lamouchi is one of the people being considered to take over at Cardiff City Stadium.
Former France international Lamouchi, 51, most recently managed Al-Duhail in Qatar, but will be better known on these shores for his time in the dugout with Nottingham Forest in the 2019/20 season.
In Lamouchi's only full season in charge of Forest, he had the club in the play-off places all season before a dramatic final day of the campaign saw both Cardiff and Swansea City leapfrog them, knocking them out of the top six. He was relieved of his duties in October 2021.
Cardiff have had a number of applicants for the job, however we are told Ismael is another name on the club's shortlist.
Ismael, who sits second in the bookmakers' odds list behind Sam Allardyce, last worked with Turkish giants Besiktas in 2022, alongside current Cardiff interim boss Dean Whitehead and head of physical performance Johnny Northeast.
While we are told Lamouchi and Ismael are on the shortlist of candidates, it is uncertain just yet how many names are on that list. However, it is reasonable to assume the duo aren't the only names on the table as things stand.
It is understood Cardiff are looking for a more experienced manager than the previous two who have been in the dugout.
