Former Newcastle United defender Kevin Mbabu looks set for a return to the Premier League with newly promoted Fulham. German outlet Kicker reports Fulham have agreed a €6m deal with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg for the 27-year-old Swiss international.
The right-back joined Newcastle back in January 2013 on a three-year deal from Swiss side Servette. However, it wasn't until 2015 that Mbabu made his senior team debut for the Magpies under then manager Steve McClaren.
Coming off the bench to replace Daryl Janmaat, Mbabu's first Newcastle appearance came in an embarrassing 1-0 League Cup home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday at St James' Park.

Three days after the defeat to Wednesday, McClaren handed Mbabu his first Premier League start as a makeshift left-back, with the defender earning plenty of praise for his performance against Chelsea in a 2-2 draw.
However, injuries and a change in management hindered the Swiss defender's development, with Mbabu eventually joining Young Boys in 2017.
Mbabu impressed for Young Boys and managed to break into the Swiss international set-up in 2018. His impressive performances for the Swiss side earned him a move to Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.
And should the 27-year-old finalise his move to join Fulham in the coming days, he will link up with former Newcastle team-mate Aleksandar Mitrovic.
