A former Met Police officer is accused of sexually assaulting a female colleague on five occasions.

Ex-PC James Chinnery will face a misconduct hearing on November 5 and 6 over the alleged sex attacks.

According to a Scotland Yard document setting out the allegations, Mr Chinnery is accused of sexually assaulting a fellow police officer “on five separate occasions during 2017 and 2018.”

It states: “The matter and conduct set out above amount to gross misconduct, namely a breach of the standards of professional behaviour that, if proved, are so serious as to justify dismissal.”

Further details on which policing unit he had been attached to were not given.

Asked if Mr Chinnery was still serving or suspended, a Met Police spokesperson said he had since resigned from the force.

They added that he had not been charged or prosecuted over the alleged incidents.

The hearing will be held at Met’s Empress State building in West Brompton and is set to last for two days.
