Plans are in place for a new Channel 4 docu-series centred around ITV2's Love Island. Reports suggest the new series will dish the dirt on the occasionally-controversial dating series.
Earlier this year ITV confirmed that multiple further series of Love Island are in development albeit without host Laura Whitmore, who has confirmed that she has left the series. Channel 4's exposé, which is allegedly titled Reality Check: Life After The Limelight, is set to feature interviews with ex-islanders who have previously appeared on the show.
It is said that these former stars will not only reveal what goes on behind the scenes but also what happens after they leave the villa. Over the years the series has been slammed for its impact on contestants' mental health.

Love Island has seen several former stars take their own life. In 2020 former host Caroline Flack tragically passed away. Former contestants Sophie Gradon and Mike Thalassitis also lost their lives to suicide shortly after they appeared on the popular dating show.
According to The Sun no names have been confirmed for the rumoured documentary series just yet and casting is apparently still under way. Love Island is set to return to ITV next year with two series planned. A winter version of the show is planned for January 2023.
