Former Louisville star Hailey Van Lith announced on her Instagram Thursday that she intends to transfer to LSU. The point guard just had another standout year for the Cardinals where she was named first-team All-ACC for the second year in a row.
Now, she joins the reigning champion Tigers and will look to help them win back-to-back national titles. In the Instagram post, Van Lith is donning an LSU jersey with the No. 11 and the caption simply reads “eleven.” Van Lith wore No. 10 while playing for Louisville but that number was already taken by LSU’s star forward Angel Reese.
Tigers guard Flau’jae Johnson could be seen in the comment section saying, “Let’s go get another 1.” The last time a women’s Division I team won back-to-back national titles was when UConn won the chip three years in a row back in 2014, ’15 and ’16. Van Lith will certainly increase their chances of doing just that.
She averaged 19.7 points, 3.2 assists and 1.5 steals for the Cardinals this past season and now enters her senior year looking to win her first ring.
