Many hospitality workers can swap stories in which a customer is being overly picky or in some cases entirely unreasonable.
For fast food employees, these everyday interactions can be bewildering. Shedding light on this issue is one ex-KFC worker who shared her experiences on the other side of the counter in a now viral TikTok video.
The former worker, who posts under the username @soph_louey, relayed some of her worst encounters with customers during her time at the fast food chain.
In one instance, she claimed to deal with a customer who wanted a plain fillet meal, but when she gave the person their meal they complained about its lack of ingredients.
Soph claimed that the customer said: "Excuse me, why is there no cheese on my fillet burger?"
In another back-and-forth, a customer asked for a meal that doesn't actually exist while claiming that it's their usual.
Soph said that they asked for a "fillet zinger meal" and despite her repeatedly asking if they wanted a fillet or zinger meal, the customer stayed firm to their order.
She also spoke about an instance in which she was asked for a plain chicken with no breading and a time where a customer asked for two sides while only being willing to pay for one.
The clip has received more than 200,000 views as hundreds of fellow fast food employees are flocking to the comments to share their similar experiences.
"Maccies worker here, it's a hard life," one commenter wrote while another said: "my personal favorite is can I have chicken please."
One other TikTok user added: "The trauma of working there for years came flooding back. I remember running out of chicken and having to stay open anyway."
