Ex-Hibs Jason Cummings shares Olivier Giroud shirt delight as he makes 'Vegemite' quip

Jason Cummings's dream of getting a signed shirt from France striker Olivier Giroud has come true.

The former Hibs star, who was previously snubbed by the AC Milan hitman at the World Cup after the Frenchman pretended he couldn't speak English, shared his delight on social media at receiving a signed top from the 36-year-old forward. Cummings was called up to the Australian national team for the World Cup and played as a substitute against Didier Dechamps' men in a 4-1 defeat.

But the real disappointment came after when the Scot was refused a jersey from the former Chelsea star. Yet Giroud has now come through, sending a signed jersey to the Central Coast Mariners men. Meanwhile the Frenchman received Cummings' signed shirt in exchange.

He posted on Instagram: "What a legend @oliviergiroud. Finally got my hands on your jersey haha. Your English is better than my French mon frère. Top man and all the best for the season. Enjoy the Vegemite bro."

He previously said after trying to get the French striker's jersey: “So when I was walking back to my changing room and I’ve seen Giroud and I’m walking, as handsome as ever.

"I asked him, ‘Giroud, please man, can I get your shirt man? I’m a big fan, can I get your shirt?’ And he just walked past me. He pretended he never spoke English and he’s been in the Premier League for 10 years! (laughing). He just walked right past me!"
