Former New York Giants defensive back Charles James II is telling anyone who is willing to hear it that current Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is the real deal.
Several weeks ago, following Jones’ impressive and gritty performance against the Dallas Cowboys, James tweeted what many saw as an outlandish take…
Daniel Jones is just as good as Josh Allen he just don’t have an Offensive Line. Goodnight!

That might be a bit of a stretch as Allen has hit superstardom the past two years and Jones is still finding his way. Jones does have similar qualities to Allen and with each gutsy performance, the confidence in him is growing.
Allen blossomed under Brian Doboll the past several seasons up in Buffalo, where he served as the Bills’ offensive coordinator. Daboll, of course, is now the Giants’ head coach and the thought process is that he will do for Jones what he did for Allen.
But James is correct. Jones isn’t getting much help in the passing game. The offense is based around Saquon Barkley and the running game and the offensive line has blocked well for him.
They have not protected Jones very well in the passing game. That, combined with the injuries to the Giants’ wide receiver corps, have stunted his numbers. We won’t know how good Jones can really be until the pass protection improves and his top receiving weapons return.
James doesn’t want anyone jumping on the Giant bandwagon when it all goes together and the Giants return to the postseason, possibly even this season.
When y’all see Daniel Jones and the giants making a run in the playoffs don’t hop on the bandwagon

Although the Jones to Allen comparison may be a bit of a reach, the NFL world does appear to be coming around on DJ a bit. And James can say he was out in front leading that charge.
