The Los Angeles Chargers are loading up on defense for the 2022 season.
Last week, they made a trade to acquire Khalil Mack from the Chicago Bears. On Monday, they agreed to terms with former New York Giants defensive lineman Austin Johnson.

The 27-year-old spent the last two years with the Giants and started in every game for them in 2021. He had 3.5 sacks with 72 total tackles last season.
Before spending the last two years with the Giants, Johnson was a former second round pick of the Tennessee Titans back in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Johnson was just one of a few free agents the Giants lost on the first day of the NFL’s “legal tampering period,” as Evan Engram agreed to a one-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
