Newcastle-born and raised reality TV-star turned boxer, Aaron Chalmers has admitted he will give Floyd Mayweather Jr 'no respect' when the two go toe to toe in the squared circle this Saturday (February 25).
The former Geordie Shore star made the bold statement at a press conference at the Leonardo Royal Hotel, London yesterday, when probed by the media as to what the opportunity means to him.
And while 'Money' Mayweather was full of praise for his opponent, 35-year-old Chalmers was zoned in and ready to go to war with arguably the greatest boxer to walk the Earth.
Speaking at the pre-fight press conference earlier this week, Aaron said: "I mean, Floyd could've chose many other opponents in the UK - he gave me the opportunity, which I thank him for. Like he said, I'm coming to put on my best performance.
"As you know, I had some problems in my personal life, so this puts me back in the mix for big fights in the YouTube world - Jake Paul, Tommy Fury, KSI. So, that's why Saturday night I'm coming to put on my best performance. Like I say, I'm not Deji, I'm not a gamer, I'm not just gonna sit back.
"I've dipped my toes in and out of the fight world for years, I've fought in front of 5/6/7/8 thousand - probably not compared to what he's fought at - but I've been in the arenas when I've been on the loving side, I've been booed when I've walked into arenas.
"So yeah, it's a chance to put me in a good position for the rest of the year and like I said I'm coming to give everything I possibly can. And like I say, he's one of the greatest of all time, but come Saturday night for however long the fight goes, he'll be getting no respect from me.
"Because like I say this is to try and give me a better future and push on my fight career."
To which, Floyd responded: "I'm proud of him, I really want him to believe in his skills - believe in himself you know?"
Floyd Mayweather has a perfect unbeaten boxing record of 50 wins and 0 losses, beating a who's who of prime talent in his day - including the likes of Ricky Hatton, Manny Pacquiao, Oscar De La Hoya, and even UFC 'champ champ' Conor McGregor.
As of late however, he has been on a run of exhibition bouts, beating Tenshin Nasukawa, Mikuru Asakura, and Deji - holding Logan Paul and Don Moore to a technical draw after eight non-scored rounds.
Aaron Chalmers on the other hand has only one four round boxing bout to his name, a win from 2022 over Alexander Zealdon. However, the Geordie OG has a remarkable 5-2 MMA career fighting in the likes of BAMMA and Bellator before making the transition to the world of boxing.
Aaron Chalmers vs Floyd Mayweather takes place at the O2 Arena in London, February 25th.
