Ex-gang leader found guilty of murder in historic Tupac case

  • Duane "Keffe D" Davis has been found guilty of orchestrating the 1996 murder of rap icon Tupac Shakur, marking the first conviction in the long-unsolved case.
  • A jury in Las Vegas convicted the 63-year-old of murder with a deadly weapon following less than three hours of deliberation.
  • Prosecutors established that Davis obtained the gun and directed the drive-by attack as retaliation after Shakur beat up Davis' nephew earlier that evening.
  • Although Davis was not the gunman, Nevada law allows accomplices to be convicted of murder , and he is the sole survivor of the four men inside the Cadillac.
  • Davis faces a possible life sentence in prison for his role in the September 1996 attack that led to Shakur's death six days later.
