Things went sour fast for former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan upon being traded to the Indianapolis Colts last offseason. Ryan was thought to be the missing piece for a Colts team with Super Bowl aspirations, but it didn’t turn out that way.
The former No. 3 overall pick was benched two different times during a nightmarish season in Indianapolis. Ryan finished with 14 touchdowns, 13 interceptions and a career-low QBR of 42.9.
The Colts released Ryan after the season and now he will join the CBS Sports NFL broadcast team, the former league MVP posted on Twitter Monday morning.
Excited to join the @NFLonCBS family! Looking forward to breaking down the game this season.
P.S. – this is not a retirement post 😉 pic.twitter.com/4fCTVpFxK0

Don’t close the door on a potential Ryan return, however, as he made it clear that he was not yet retiring. We’ll see if he takes a job somewhere when training camp rolls around.
During the14 seasons Ryan played in Atlanta, he passed for 62,792 yards, 381 touchdowns and 183 interceptions.
