Ex-Emmerdale star Michael Wildman bags role in major new Netflix show after character killed off

Emmerdale’s Michael Wildman has bagged another role following the death of his soap character Al Chapman.

Shocked Emmerdale viewers have been following the drama in recent weeks after villain Al Chapman was gunned down. This has seen acting star Michael Wildman, 52, looking for new parts.

His latest is a role is in a new Netflix show called Baby Reindeer. Michael will be playing a bar manager in the programme.

Speaking to The Mirror, Michael said: “My character is a bit of a wide boy but he is not a villain. The drama is being filmed in London which means I'll be able to come home to my bed every evening. It also means my wife can take on more projects herself."

It has been a busy few weeks for Michael following from his Emmerdale exit. Away from his new Netflix part, Michael, has also earned himself a role in a new Lord of The Rings film.

As we’ve previously reported, Michael is part of the cast of series prequel The Lord of The Rings: The War of the Rohirrim. The untold story behind Helm's Deep, hundreds of years before the fateful war, will tell the life and times of Helm Hammerhand - the King of Rohan.

Other members of the animation’s cast include Succession’s Brian Cox as well as Miranda Otto, Luke Pasqualino, Shaun Dooley and Janine Duvitski. The new film is due for release in 2023 and we'll bring you more about it when we have further details.

Before joining Emmerdale, in 2019, Michael had roles in big movies Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw, Ready Player One and The Bourne Ultimatum.
