Kelvin said: "We've already got the best of both worlds with Marnie and Milo, so I didn’t mind either way, but finding out we're having sons is amazing."
The 38-year-old star added: "It was the best day of my life. It was a moment of complete disbelief. I’ve never felt joy like it."
Wife Liz admitted she was slightly more sceptical initially, she said: "I felt every single emotion under the sun.
"First, there's double the worry. I thought about things like breastfeeding, how is that possible with two? How do you pick up two babies at the same time? I felt all of this in the space of 30 seconds."
The soap star and his wife shared the exciting news they were expecting again during an appearance on BBC Breakfast back in January and have kept fans up to date with the pregnancy on social media ever since.
In his most recent post Kelvin couldn't help but remark: “that bump is MASSIVE” as he shared a snap of the two of them with fans.
And the pair are certainly going to have their hands full with a family of six, not to mention their new life running a farm including having just welcomed their first spring lambs as well as Kelvin's work commitments.
Kelvin is set to make his National Theatre debut in 'Jack Absolute Flies Again' later this year, with rehearsals said to begin just weeks after Liz is expected to give birth.
Tickets for the show are available here.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
