Former Emmerdale star Charley Webb looks worlds apart from her former Debbie Dingle role as she’s been spotted filming for a new Yorkshire Ripper drama in Leeds.
At the start of the year, Charley Webb, 34, confirmed she’d left Emmerdale for good. She’s teased in recent weeks some exciting new acting roles.
We spotted Charley filming in Leeds for a new ITV drama on the Yorkshire Ripper. The image shows her playing a police officer in the drama which will be set in the 1970s.

Former Coronation Street star Katherine Kelly will as Peter Sutcliffe’s second victim Emily Jackson. This week production team was on location in Chapeltown - near where survivor Marcella Claxton lives.
We published images from The Mirror earlier this week. Some residents were surprised the production company had chosen to film the serial killer drama so close to her home.
Mercy Brown, 48, said: “Imagine going for a walk in the streets where you live and seeing a film being made about your attacker’s crimes.”
Marcella, who still suffers headaches, dizzy spells and blackouts 45 years on, said after Sutcliffe’s death in 2020 aged 74: “I’m happy he’s gone. At least now I may be able to get some closure. Sutcliffe was convicted of murdering 13 women and attempting to murder seven others from 1975 to 1980.
The Yorkshire Ripper drama is Charley Webb’s first major role since leaving Emmerdale. Charley played Debbie Dingle for nearly two decades before leaving the show.
In March, discussing her career and a return to acting, Charley said: “When the right thing comes to me, I'll be back.” It would appear she’s found a good role to return with. We’ll bring you more on the new drama and Charley’s part when we know more.
