The Russell Wilson era with the Denver Broncos is over with the news that the team will release him when the NFL’s new league year begins. Now, one former Broncos star didn’t let him leave without offering some criticism.
Coupled with Denver’s decision to trade wide receiver Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns on Saturday in exchange for draft picks, the Broncos appear to be embarking on a serious overhaul. After news of the Jeudy trade broke, former Broncos cornerback and four-time Pro Bowler Chris Harris saw fans trashing Jeudy online, and he took to X, formerly Twitter, in defense of the wideout.
It came at the expense of Wilson.
“Yall people really think Jeudy Trash lol it’s hard to play when your QB misses you every week,” Harris wrote Saturday.

Wilson was widely criticized during his disappointing two-year run with the Broncos, but now he’ll get a fresh start with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Wilson announced Sunday night that he intends to sign with the Steelers in a hype video.
This past season, Wilson completed 66.4% of his passes for 3,070 yards and 26 touchdown passes to eight interceptions. Jeudy caught 54 passes for 758 yards and two touchdowns in 16 games.
