Arsenal are back in European action this week for the final time before the mid-season break for the World Cup, with a huge amount at stake. They face FC Zurich at the Emirates, and whilst they have confirmed progression through the group stages, they are yet to secure top spot.
With the change in the rules surrounding how the Europa League works, the team that finishes first now get a bye straight into the round of 16. Those who are second must face a side that finished third in the Champions League group stages. With those sets of games to be played over the next few days, Arsenal will be keeping a keen eye on the sides they could face later in the competition.
One that will be of keen interest relates to the other side in North London - Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites can finish anywhere from top of their group down to third, securing some form of Europe for in the new year, though they are yet to discover if that will be in the Champions League or Europa League.

Antonio Conte's side face off against Ligue 1 team Olympique Marseille, with it all to play for when it comes to progression. However, that journey could see some familiar faces from the red side of North London, causing plenty of trouble for them.
Les Olympiens have a quartet of former and current Gooners with Alexis Sanchez, Matteo Guendouzi, Sead Kolasinac and Nuno Tavares all on their books. The former of the lot has already had plenty to say about his Arsenal days before facing off against Spurs.
"I have great affection for Arsenal from my time there," The Chilean said before the clash. "Beating Spurs every time was a great joy. It was very special & they are days I will always cherish."
Should Tottenham lose, they may drop into the Europa League, which may set up the possibility of another North London Derby later in the season, but on the European front. It would represent a huge clash for both sides, if so, one that may capture the imagination.
