Ewan McGregor’s ex-wife, Eve Mavrakis, has suffered fresh heartache just hours before the Star Wars actor is due to tie-the-knot a second time.
Trainspotting star Ewan, 51, was married to 55-year-old French production designer Eve in 1995 and together they welcomed four daughters.
However, their marriage collapsed in May 2017 – with Eve, and her children, said to be blindsided when Ewan demanded a divorce and then swiftly started dating 37-year-old actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
This weekend, Ewan and Mary are due to swap vows at a ceremony in California – but reports have emerged that Eve is single once again, with the news breaking hours before Ewan's rumoured new nuptials.
The Daily Mail reports that the film crew member has split from film composer Jonathan Elias, 66 – who is described as having been her “long-term boyfriend”.
A source told the publication: “Eve and Jonathan really enjoyed each other’s company but sadly it didn’t work out and they have parted ways.”
The report goes on to claim: “Elias met Eve four years ago through a mutual pal.
“She confirmed their romance… last summer after they enjoyed a ‘magical’ holiday in Lake Como, Italy. It was her first relationship since McGregor left her in 2017 after 22 years of marriage.”
The collapse of Ewan and Eve’s marriage made headlines when model daughter Clara, 26, hit out at her father and his new love interest.
She famously branded Mary as “a piece of trash” and seemingly slammed her father as an “a***hole” in a tribute to her mother online.
However, Clara later clarified, writing online: “Let's make one thing clear. I was not attacking my dad or calling him [an] a***hole. I was simply saying [my mom] deserves someone who isn't one.”
Ewan and Eve’s divorce was finalised in August 2020 – with reports stating that the Scottish star would pay his wife £40,000 a month and share royalties from his movies in their settlement.
Ewan and Mary met on the set of hit American crime drama Fargo – which was filmed in early 2017 and aired later that year.
The couple welcomed a son named Laurie in June last year.
Mary, who hails from North Carolina, was previously married to filmmaker Riley Stearns, 35, with the pair becoming husband and wife back in 2010.
The couple split in 2017 and their divorce was finalised later that year.
This week, reports emerged to suggest Ewan and Mary will tie-the-knot this weekend in a top secret ceremony.
A source told PageSix: "They are more in love than ever and having their first child together last year just strengthened their bond."
However the couple themselves are yet to confirm or deny their wedding plans – or even if they are engaged.
