Evil Scots killer who sent pics of dying victim with laughing emoji has jail time increased

An evil knife killer who took and sent pictures of his dying victim alongside laughing emojis has had his prison sentence increased by judges. Andrew Palfreman was locked up for a minimum of 12 years after being found guilty of repeatedly striking Barry McLachlan on the head and body with a blade during a row in July 2021.

Instead of calling for an ambulance, the 28-year-old sent a series of vile messages telling pals he had “just stabbed f*** oot a guy n hes lyin hawf deed in my close”. He then went to bed before eventually calling emergency services to the scene in the Lambhill area of Glasgow around five hours later.

The murderer tried to claim he was defending himself by stabbing the 33-year-old and that a character called “Mr Darkside” was living inside his head. Three appeal judges have now quashed the original prison term and increased it to 17 years due to errors made by the trial judge.
