Neighbours had raised concerns for months before a nine-year-old boy was killed by his mother and her partner, who have been jailed over his death, with a safeguarding review now under way.
Carla Scott, 35, and Dirk Howell, 41, have been handed sentenced to almost 60 years in prison collectively for their horrific crimes. Alfie Steele had 50 injuries all over his body and was found submerged in a bath in Droitwich, Worcestershire.
Scott, 35, was found guilty at Coventry Crown Court of his manslaughter and Howell was found guilty of his murder on February 18 2021.
