Evil dad kills his two kids by poisoning their yoghurt after ex meets someone new

A dad has been jailed for killing his kids with poisoned yoghurt after confessing he did it because his ex-partner started dating someone new.

Javier Hernández Rojano, 37, was caged for 60 years after killing his two children, aged seven and four, in Bolivia in March.

The court heard he had asked his former partner if he could see their two kids and take them to buy new shoes.

He then took them back to his house where he lived and poisoned his children.

He confessed to putting liquid insecticide in his children's yoghurt before eating the toxic mix himself.

Rojano suffered severe stomach cramps and went to the police station where he confessed to his actions and got medical treatment.

He then spent several weeks in intensive care in the hospital.

He then apologised to family members for killing the two children when he recovered.

Rojano told the authorities that he carried out the act because his ex-partner had met someone new, according to investigators.

The police said: “The father gave the victims insecticide after a fit of jealousy because his former partner and mother of the minors had a relationship with another person.”

Following the poisoning incident in March, residents carried out a protest in the city to demand justice for the children’s death.

The demonstration was led by teachers from the Technical Agricultural Education Institute and was joined by other students from the region.

Institute rector Francisco Daza said: “For us, it is very painful because the children went to the institute’s primary school.

"We reject all forms of violence against children.”
