It’s official, Gisele Bündchen is pregnant! But who is Gisele Bundchen’s boyfriend?

The exciting news was confirmed overnight with the source telling PEOPLE “Gisele and Joaquim are happy for this new chapter in their life and they’re looking forward to creating a peaceful and loving environment for the whole family.”
This will be Bündchen’s third child, joining her son Benjamin Rein, 14, and daughter Vivian Lake, 11 whom she shares with Brady.
Curious to know more about Gisele Bundchen’s boyfriend – Miami-based martial arts instructor Valente and their relationship? Here’s everything we know about the parents-to-be, including what the Brazilian bombshell herself has said about the romance.
Who Is Gisele Bundchen’s Boyfriend Joaquim Valente?
There’s little personal information about Valente, 37, on the internet, save for a private Instagram account and few sneaky pap shots of him with Bündchen, 44, but that hasn’t stopped super sleuths from revealing a few snippets of information about the jiu-jitsu expert.
The Miami-based martial arts trainer currently teaches with his siblings at his family-owned academy, Valente Brothers which has quite the cult following on social media with over 50k followers on Instagram. According to the academy’s website, Joaquim moved to Miami in 2007 to study criminology.
Where Did Gisele Bündchen and Joaquim Valente Meet?
If you’ve been keeping up with the Brady/Bündchen family since their marriage in 2009, you’ll know that this isn’t the first time Joaquim’s name has appeared in headlines next to Gisele’s.
Back in February of 2022, the pair first set front covers alight after the supermodel posted a video of her taking down the instructor through a series of jiu-jitsu chokes.
The model captioned her Instagram post: “I feel stronger, more confident and empowered since I started practicing self-defense. I feel it’s an important skill for all, but especially for us women. Thank you @ValenteBrothers for being awesome teachers and for making training so much fun.”
As per PEOPLE, Gisele first began training at Valente Brothers in 2021 when she signed her son up for lessons at Valente’s academy, consequently partnering with Joaquim, both on the mat and outside of the studio.
How Long Have Gisele Bündchen and Joaquim Valente Been Dating?
Gisele Bündchen and boyfriend Valente were first spotted together back in November 2022 on a visit to Provincia de Puntarenas (a province located on Costa Rica’s coast) with her two kids. According to PEOPLE, the pair started out as just friends, and that for the most part, the holidays in Costa Rica were purely platonic. Despite that sounding awfully romantic for two friends, given that Gisele owns a house in Costa Rica, it didn’t seem that abnormal for Joaquim to join the humanitarian and her family for personal jiu-jitsu training sessions.
Bündchen originally denied any existence of a romantic relationship with Valente when he was her trainer, however, a connection inevitably blossomed and by February 2024, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Valente is indeed Gisele Bündchen’s boyfriend.
“They have been dating since June [2023]. They’re taking it slow,” the source told PEOPLE, adding that Bündchen is intentional about nurturing this new relationship in a different way to her previously high-profile marriage with Brady.
“She’s very private about this and wanted to keep it quiet while they got to know each other.”
When Is Baby Bündchen/Valente due?
Given it’s early days and the pair are remaining consciously quiet on the topic, there is no exact date. However, considering the timing of the announcement, it’s likely that the supermodel will give birth some time around April-June.
The news comes almost exactly two years on from Bündchen and Brady’s very public divorce after 13 years of marriage.
