Over the course of 2025, the Australian Survivor world was sent into a tizzy after it was confirmed that OG Survivor zaddy Jonathan LaPaglia would not be returning for 2026.
After months of speculation, it was confirmed that David ‘Golden God’ Genat would be taking on the hosting reins following his multiple stints on the beloved game show and his remarkable win on Deal or No Deal Island.

“Getting to come back as host after playing three times is such an honour,” Genat said of his brand-spanking new gig.
“But Survivor is not about me; it’s about the incredible players who put everything on the line to outwit, outplay, and outlast.
“I am pumped for the fans to meet the new crop of Survivors next season.”
Now, with 2026 coming in fast, we’ve got a taste of this “new crop” of castaways!
