Whilst a majority of folks were indulging in the glorious weather — and the eye-watering Black Friday sales — Prime Minister Anthony Albanese officially tied the knot with his long-term partner, Jodie Haydon, in a private ceremony in Canberra.
Taking to social media on Saturday, Albo confirmed the news with a video of Jodie and him walking down the aisle with the caption “married”.

“We are absolutely delighted to share our love and commitment to spending our future lives together, in front of our family and closest friends,” Albo and Haydon also said in a joint statement, per ABC News.
Not only is this news exciting (because duh, who doesn’t love a wedding!) but Albo has also made history by becoming the first Aussie PM to tie the knot whilst in office, and the first to have the shindig at the PM’s official residence.
So, to get you up to speed on our leader’s wedding (because who doesn’t froth a little bit of romantic tea), here’s everything we know about Anthony Albanese and Jodie Haydon’s nuptials.
Where did Anthony Albanese and Jodie Haydon get married?
The pair, who’d been dating since 2019, officially tied the knot in an “intimate ceremony” at The Lodge on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
According to ABC News, the PM’s nuptials were put on hold until after the recent election. The publication also reported that if he’d lost the race to Parliament House, the pair had planned to have a two-month-long honeymoon.
Albo’s nuptials were kept secret due to potential security concerns.
Who attended Anthony Albanese and Jodie Haydon’s wedding?
News.com.au reported that Albo and Jodie had 80 guests in total, which included Foreign Minister Penny Wong, Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles, Treasurer Jim Chalmers, Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke, ALP national secretary Paul Erickson, Health Minister Mark Butler, Finance Minister Katy Gallagher, Industry Minister Tim Ayres and Trade Minister Don Farrell.
Who was a part of Anthony Albanese and Jodie Haydon’s wedding party?
The pair didn’t have a bridal party. However, ABC News reported that Haydon was escorted down the aisle by her parents, Bill and Pauline Haydon, to Ben Folds‘ “The Luckiest”.
Ella, Haydon’s five-year-old niece, was the flower girl and Toto, Albo’s doggo, was the ring bearer.

Who designed Jodie Haydon’s wedding dress?
Haydon’s gorgeous wedding dress was by Sydney designer Romance Was Born, and Albo’s little getup was from MJ Bale.
The wedding bands were from Sydney’s Cerrone Jewellers.

Was DJ Albo on the decks?
The Sydney Morning Herald claimed DJ Albo made an appearance at the reception. As for the playlist? That has remained a mystery… for now.
However, according to ABC News, Albanese and Haydon walked down the aisle to Stevie Wonder‘s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)” and their first dance as a married couple was to Frank Sinatra‘s “The Way You Look Tonight”.
Also, while we’re talking about the reception, we have to mention these personalised tinnies from Inner West Sydney Brewery, Willie the Boatman. How bloody cute.

We’ll be sure to do a deep dive into the playlist when it drops. Stay tuned.
