Bournemouth boss Scott Parker was “bitterly disappointed” to see last week’s clash with Nottingham Forest postponed.
The Reds were due to take on promotion rivals the Cherries at the Vitality Stadium in a crunch match at the top end of the Championship.
But the game was called off at 4pm on Friday, less than four hours before the scheduled 7.45pm kick-off, with Bournemouth citing damage to their ground caused by Storm Eustice.
"Everything was done,” Parker told DorsetLive. “We were here (at the Vitality Stadium), we were preparing for the game and obviously bitterly disappointed.
“It was a good opportunity for us to get back out there in front of Sky, our home fans and after a big result against Blackpool. But it wasn't meant to be."
The fallout from that decision has continued into this week as Forest have shared their observations on the circumstances surrounding the postponement with the English Football League.
The Reds are understood to have been frustrated the fixture was called off, believing proper efforts were not made to get the game played on the Saturday.
They were also mindful that a large number of travelling supporters were either already on the south coast or on their way when the late call was made.
Parker’s side then had their trip to Swansea City postponed four days later.
"You refer to it as an international break, it hasn't been that," he said. "We have had to prepare for games and obviously the game was called off late on Friday against Forest. We then prepare for Swansea and the game was also called off.
"While it's been two weeks from the last game we played against Blackpool, it has been a bit stop-start because we've been preparing and not preparing.
"But we are in a good place. Would we have liked to have played the games? Of course, we would have. We were undefeated.
“Three wins (in a row), after a very good result against Blackpool would have been a good time to play. Momentum was fully with us.
“But what happened was obviously unforeseen and with the storm, and hence why the games were called off. And I understand that."
Forest’s meeting with the Cherries has been rearranged for Tuesday, May 3, becoming their penultimate game of the season.
