Everything Todd Boehly has said on Graham Potter amid questions over Chelsea boss' future

Chelsea boss Graham Potter is facing tough questions over his immediate future at Stamford Bridge.

Having spent over £300m in the January transfer window, the Blues have faltered even further in the weeks that have followed, losing to both Borussia Dortmund and Southampton in the past seven days. Chelsea currently sit nine points away from the top four.

Much has been made of the former Brighton boss' start to life in West London, having won just nine of his opening 25 games in charge of the side. The 47-year-old has often been criticized for his seemingly negative post-match press conferences too in recent weeks.

Whilst yet to hear from club owner Todd Boehly on the club's recent downfall, the US tycoon has hinted that Potter's vision does correctly align with what he is trying to achieve, as he explained following the sacking of former boss Thomas Tuchel earlier this year.

"When you take over any business, you have to make sure you're aligned with the people who are operating the business," Boehly said on the sacking of the club's former German boss.

"[Thomas] Tuchel is obviously extremely talented and someone who had great success at Chelsea. Our vision for the club was to find a manager who really wanted to collaborate with us, a coach who really wanted to collaborate.

''There are a lot of walls to break down at Chelsea. Before [we arrived], the first team and academy didn't really share data, didn't share information about where the top players were coming from. Our goal is to bring a team together; all of that needs to be a well-oiled machine."

Not perhaps giving too much away was Boehly's comments upon the appointment of Potter back in September of last year, insisting his work with the Seagulls hadn't gone unnoticed, but more that he looked forward to what could be achieved further down the line.

He told the club's official website following the appointment: "We are thrilled to bring Graham to Chelsea. He is a proven coach and an innovator in the Premier League who fits our vision for the Club.

''Not only is he extremely talented on the pitch, he has skills and capabilities that extend beyond the pitch which will make Chelsea a more successful Club. He has had a major impact at his previous Clubs and we look forward to his positive impact at Chelsea. We look forward to supporting him, his coaching team and the squad in realising their full potential in the coming months and years.''

Whether Potter is given the time to reach said full potential remains to be seen, but at a club where immediate success is often the main priority, the Blues must find their form and fast.
