Newcastle CEO Darren Eales held a round table event at St James' Park this week with the local media.
Eales was open to any questions after taking up his position as the club's football supremo following a move from Atlanta United this summer. Eales has also held positions at West Bromwich Albion and Tottenham Hotspur.
Here's a round-up of what was discussed.
How the club will go about any stadium renaming issues
Darren Eales: "With the history of the club, something like stadium naming rights would be something where we’d be talking to the fans.
"Sometimes there’s a danger if you’re just chasing revenue; we want to have the best fan engagement. If we want to do anything with the stadium we’ll talk to the supporters. It would be crazy not to. It’s important that, anything we do, we bring our supporters along with us. Fan engagement is going to be front and centre.
"We want to be a top-six club consistently competing for trophies so it’s about how we get there but we also want to be sustainable."

Newcastle United's spending power
DE: "The reality is we aren’t like Manchester City when they had the takeover or even Chelsea. We haven’t got a blank sheet of paper where you can just go out and buy who you want."
"We’re in a situation where we really have to hit it on our signings to get there [the top six] quickly. We have to get every single transfer right; we can’t afford to get even a couple of players wrong."
Howe the rest of Europe are reacting to Newcastle's newfound wealth
DE: “I went to the European Club Association meeting a couple of weeks ago, and it was amazing the number of clubs from around the world that came up to speak to me, the first thing they wanted to talk about was the supporters and the history of Newcastle United. People are really excited about our journey, and when we’re talking to companies and brands, that’s hugely compelling."
Newcastle United's heritage
DE: "Think of the Newcastle Entertainers team now, and you think of that Newcastle Brown Ale logo that was part of it.
"There’s the chance to be part of our journey. "We’ve got that, and then with PIF, there’s also that synergy of companies wanting to be associated with us because PIF have such a big global connection and network. We’ve got a lot of opportunity because of that ownership."
Ticket prices and staying at St James' Park
DE: "What does that mean? Well, a huge part of what makes Newcastle United the club that it is, is the passion of the supporters and the atmosphere that’s generated here inside St James’ Park.
"It was funny watching the Arsenal game at the end of last season in the United States, knowing I was going to be coming here. You could see Arsenal visibly wilt that day because of the energy and passion inside the stadium.
"Talking to Eddie and the players, they feel it too and feel it’s absolutely fundamental to what the club is. They love it and want that interaction between them and the supporters."
