If there’s one TV show everyone can’t get enough of, it’s The Pitt. From winning Outstanding Drama Series at the 2025 Emmys to Best Drama Series at the Golden Globes, it’s become TV’s latest obsession, winning them an impressive 25 Emmy Award nominations in last night’s show. But if you’re yet to sink into the show’s gripping plot-line, you can catch-up on HBO Max.
Set in a cash-strapped Pittsburgh hospital, The Pitt unfolds in real time, with each episode covering an hour of a relentless 15-hour shift. Created by ER’s John Wells, the show stars Noah Wyle, who returns to familiar territory after spending 11 seasons as Dr John Carter in ER. The Independent’s culture editor Jacob Stolworthy called The Pitt “one of the greatest new shows to have premiered in a long while” in his review, adding that it got better with every episode.
