If you had gone back in time and told me that not one, but TWO actors from Encino Man — the 1992 comedy that included Pauly Shore — would be Oscars winners, I might have been shocked.
But here we are. The 2023 Oscars are over, and both Ke Huy Quan — for Everything Everywhere All At Once — and Brendan Fraser (for The Whale) took home acting Academy Awards.
And everyone — including Sean Astin, who starred in Encino Man — had to tweet about those two winning on Sunday night. As you’ll also see below, this fun fact was pointed out before the Academy Awards were handed out:
