Everton’s FA cup run came to an emphatic end against Crystal Palace on Sunday as the Blues fell to a 4-0 defeat at Selhurst Park.
Frank Lampard selected a strong team as Everton looked to book their place in a Wembley semi-final but ultimately crumbled when faced with Patrick Vieira’s side. Two goals for the Eagles in each half resulted in a miserable afternoon for Evertonians .
The defeat now means that the welcome distraction from Everton ’s perilous league position has now disappeared, with the Toffees now fully focused on retaining their Premier League status.

ECHO readers were given the opportunity to rate the Everton players’ performances in the defeat and it is no surprise that the scores make for grim reading. Anthony Gordon received the highest mark with 5.2 out of 10; while Michael Keane and Andre Gomes both scored a lowly 2.9.
Chris Beesley provided his player ratings for the ECHO from Selhurst Park and there were understandably few positives to glean from the performance, with the majority of the team receiving scores of five.
Andros Townsend, who saw his afternoon cut short in the first-half through injury, was the only player to receive a positive rating of seven, having initially impressed on his return to Palace.
Whereas Everton's centre-back trio of Mason Holgate, Michael Keane and Ben Godfrey were given identical scores of three after failing to contain the home side’s attacks, both in open play and from set pieces.
What everyone else said
The national media also had their say on Everton’s display and some were perhaps more lenient in their assessments.
iNews gave both Richarlison and Anthony Gordon marks of seven out of ten, with the rest of the side receiving a mix of fives and sixes.
The Telegraph had almost identical ratings with the duo also receiving positive marks, while Michael Keane and Andre Gomes received scores of five and six respectively.
Similar to Chris Beesley, Whoscored marked Andros Townsend as the Blues’ best performer before his injury with 6.6 out of 10, marginally ahead of Seamus Coleman on 6.5.
Elsewhere, 90min more reflected the mood among ECHO readers as Keane and Richarlison both scored two out of ten, while Coleman and Jonjoe Kenny were the only two Everton players to be marked above a three.
