Nigel, that must have been the exact reaction you were looking for?
It's just the result we were looking for. We've had three pretty good performances so far. Saturday we caused ourselves problems at the weekend but I thought tonight we played pretty well even after five changes. It was good for a number of the squad to get a bit of pitch time tonight.
The performance was good and the result was the most important thing as well.
How important was that fast start, coming quickly out the blocks and showing that clinical edge?
I think we always look like scoring. The problem for us has been keeping things tight collectively. I thought the back three in particular were solid tonight and the wing-backs coped too.
I thought Andy King was very disciplined and showed his game understanding playing as a deeper player in midfield so there were a lot of good things and good to release a couple of fresh legs up top too.
Two goals for Tommy Conway, continuing his form from pre-season. What's that going to do for him going forward?
He'll be disappointed not to get his hat-trick. But that's what you want. You want ambitious players, I thought Nahki worked hard too especially in the first half.
We looked like causing them problems we just need to make sure we recover right now because we're back to the competition which means the most and that's the league. And we're a bit unfortunate in some ways not to have points yet after the two performances we've had.
All in all, it's been a disappointing result for us points-wise but performance wise I'm pleased with how we're moving forward.
With Conway, you've played him a lot alongside Nahki Wells, especially in pre-season, what is it that you like about that partnership?
They give us pace and the ability to work the defence as Andi gives us as well. Andi played in a slightly deeper role today and they made eight changes and we wanted to cause them a problem with our pace.
Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses but what's important is that the players are ready to take opportunities.
With those opportunities and five changes tonight, has that given you a bit of a selection dilemma looking to Saturday?
It's nice to have choices is what it is. Hopefully, Timm was not involved tonight as he went to Switzerland because his wife had their first child. So that's why he's not involved today but he'll be fine for the weekend.
Hopefully, we'll be able to have a few selection... nice choices.
You must have been pleased with the resilience your side showed after Coventry scored? They put some pressure on but they stood up to the challenge.
We test ourselves don't we, so it's whether our own demons kick in or whether we were able to deal with the pressure and I thought they did very well.
Making the switch to Burton obviously didn't cause your side any problems...
There's no reason to make a deal out of it. If I was Coventry I would be furious. I read with interest today the comments coming out of Wasps and there's obviously some politics involved but for Mark (Robins) his staff and players it must be very frustrating.
I'll make the comments that I feel are necessary and I think it has been dealt with very poorly. But I thought both sides and both sets of supporters just made the most of the situation. It was a great atmosphere at a compact ground.
That sort of attendance in a big stadium would get a bit lost but tonight was good.
Tommy has come back from playing non-league, he's got a brilliant attitude on him...
Tommy was in and around our squad last year and he's a player who we think has got a lot of qualities which will lend themselves to being very useful in the first-team.
He's a youngster and he's very hungry for success and he works exceptionally hard and on a physical level and a psychological level he's made great strides over the last 12 months. That's a testament to how he approaches his work.
