It's been a disappointing week for Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
He suffered his first Premiership defeat as Ibrox boss on derby day to Celtic, meaning Rangers were leapfrogged into top spot by their Glasgow rivals.
That result has been picked apart by fans and pundits, and the Dutchman answered questions on the defeat heading into the clash with Hearts this weekend.
It's a chance to get back on track and ramp up the pressure on Ange Postecoglou's men, and a major boost could be the debut of Aaron Ramsey.
The Juventus loanee could make his first appearance at Ibrox against the Jambos, and Alfredo Morelos is also back in contention after returning from Colombia duty.
Here is every word from Van Bronckhorst's press conference ahead of the clash with Robbie Neilson's men.
Every word of the press conference
The team doesn't seen to be playing with intensity, are you not expansive enough?
What do you mean by expansive?
You are sitting back rather than taking the game to the opposition.
If we talk about the game on Wednesday, we had a really bad start. We weren’t ready for the game, it seemed, if you saw us play.
So instead of picking the moments to press, you know in these big games you always have to be compact because you know the storm is going to come.
You have to keep the moments to go out as a team, to push up and try to find the right timing in pressing. It was an important thing we didn’t do.
Secondly, on the ball we were not good. We were very uncertain, which means you cannot break their pressure. The pressure came wave after wave.
But I think around 25-30 minutes, the game changed. We had more possession, we were much higher up the pitch.
In the second half, we totally had it under control but the two goals before half-time, from 1-0 to 3-0, that’s a big difference. We made it difficult for ourselves with the goals we gave away.
Are you a ruthless manager? Will you make a number of changes on Sunday?
It’s another game and you always take the last game you played into account - what kind of subs you made and how they performed.
But it’s obvious I want to see a different team, a different mentality, a different intensity - the things you always have to have when you go into games.
It doesn’t matter which game but we have to act differently than we did on Wednesday.
High pressing has not been evident recently, do you want the team to play with more energy in forward positions?
Well of course you want that. When you can press a team high, you have to do it. But you also have to have the courage to go up.
On Wednesday, I didn’t change any tactics at half-time. I just changed personnel and we had a whole different attitude in the second half.
It’s the way you behave on the pitch, the way you communicate with your team-mates, how you give the signal to go and press.
Those things are much more important. You can say ‘we want a high press’, it’s easy to say it but you have to do it at the right time. You have to go as a team and that’s the thing we have to improve.
You said after match players didn’t follow your game plan - did Wednesday teach you a lot about which players you can trust for rest of season?
What I said with the game plan, we gave two goals away. The second and third ones is just losing sight of your opponent, not tracking back in tempo, not closing the lines. That’s the basics you have to have to win games and to be strong as a team. Those things you have to improve.
Last season is gone - it’s gone. This is the season we want to be champions again and we have to give everything to achieve that.
So the challenge is there now to be the champions at the end of the season.
Can you take anything from the Celtic game in terms of motivation?
Of course. We had a debrief on Friday. We showed the images, we saw the things we didn’t do right and the mistakes we made.
You have to look to the images and be honest and talk to your players and with each other about things we need to improve and that we didn’t do right.
It’s from these moments you learn the most. But you have to learn from it. It has to give you energy for the games to come. Of course we are very disappointed with the result but there’s another game to be played on Sunday and we have to improve the things we didn’t do right and improve ourselves and get a good result.
How important is togetherness?
It’s very important. It’s still a group that is together. The results aren’t there. Yes we lost a second game in 60 games and they have proved they can bounce back from disappointment. That’s what we have to do on Sunday.
What is the latest on fitness and the return of Alfredo Morelos?
Alfredo trained on Friday. He came back late on Thursday night. I think he had three flights again coming back from Colombia but he trained as normal on Friday and he will be available for Sunday. The only one who is not available is Hagi, of course, with his injury. The other ones are available.
Aaron Ramsey had a session on Friday that also went really good. We have to assess him today but he looks good as well. So we can add more players on Sunday.
How do you sort out the recent defensive issues?
The back four in the games we played since I have been here were very stable and very determined. We didn’t give a lot of goals against us so that was really good. But you see the last two games we have given too many easy goals away. It hasn’t been like that but we have to improve if you also see the goals we conceded against Ross County, especially the first two.
Celtic again, the second and third goal. That’s too easy to give goals away like that. We have to make sure we bring back the determination in the back line but also the players in front of that when needed have to everything to block the goals. That’s the mentality we need to have.
Will you change formation or system due to the recent run of form?
Of course I believe in my way of playing. It’s easy to say now it’s (not) working. In the first eight games I didn’t hear about that. So it’s very easy to say it now but I believe in my system but we need to make sure we keep doing the things we always did.
Those are the basic things, to track back, to make sure you mark your man, to get the aggression, the moments we can go forward we have to take them. I’m sure if we have those things much better than in the last couple of games we will be fine. It’s for us to bounce back and make sure on Sunday we have the same determination we had a couple of months ago.
What is the latest on Leon Balogun 's fitness?
He played before but people forget how many centre-backs I had available, how many centre-backs were injured.
Leon is one of them. He has been out of the team. He just came back a couple of weeks ago. But he showed on Wednesday how strong he is and how valuable he can be in the squad.
Same for Ryan Jack. He played 40 minutes. For me, it was the maximum because he hadn’t played for months. He played only max 20 minutes in the last two or three months.
So, again, another player who is very valuable and important for this team but he also comes back from injury. It is not always easy to have those players out. Especially when they come back, you see what they can bring.
Will you bring in the wingers and have them play more centrally?
We have done it before. We build up in many games with three at the back and my wingers inside. It’s a 4-3-3, but in most of the games we are not playing in a 4-3-3 system.
We are very dynamic, we can change, we can play with players inside, we can move the full-backs high up. As you saw against Celtic, when Ryan came in, we built up with three. I know when results aren’t there, everyone has questions about your way of playing.
Inside, outside, last season, champions or not, it comes with the results you are getting. Our focus is to keep on building the way we have been playing, with the same intensity and the same determination. It’s a bad result we had last Wednesday. It’s one point difference. There are 42 points to be won so the challenge is on. That’s all I can say.
Were the tactics against Celtic set out to defend deep?
If you have three attackers on your side, it’s a bit pointless to be only defending.
If you speak to the players, and you speak about the first 15-20 minutes, it wasn’t the way we wanted to start. It wasn’t the way we intended to start.
It’s possible when you play against a team who are strong at home, who want to play with intensity and speed and put you under pressure big-time in the first minutes. Those are the times you have to overcome that. We knew they were going to come for 20 minutes.
We knew they were going to push hard for the early goal. You have to have the mentality: ‘guys, the first 20 minutes, whatever happens, we stick together. We win our battles and we make sure we have a good result to build on’. The first 20-25 minutes, there was a storm.
Then we took over. And then in the second half, we get more space than we had in the first half. But to go 1-0 down at half-time or 3-0 down - it’s a big difference.
You always want to have domination. Sometimes in games it’s difficult because of the opponent you face. And we faced a strong opponent. When you have the ball, you have be brave, you have to be doing your possession game, you have to make sure you break lines.
That’s the thing we didn’t do in the first 20 minutes. We just gave the ball away and then it’s very difficult to get into the game and to be able to push up as a team.
