Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag slammed his team's "unprofessional" performance after they fell to a 7-0 defeat against Liverpool.
Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez each scored twice for Jurgen Klopp's Reds before substitute Roberto Firmino put away the seventh. It was Liverpool's biggest ever win against United, surpassing the 7-1 victory they recorded in an 1895 meeting, and is also the heaviest defeat of Ten Hag's managerial career.
It was just the second defeat suffered by the Carabao Cup winners in 2023, with Premier League leaders Arsenal the only other team to beat them since the turn of the year. The win leaves United just seven points ahead of Liverpool, who have taken 13 points from their last five games.
