When Sean Connery returned as James Bond for Diamonds Are Forever, he was stepping back into the role after sitting out On Her Majesty's Secret Service. But by 1973's Live and Let Die, Connery was no longer interested in playing 007, prompting long-time Bond producers Cubby Broccoli and Harry Saltzman to find a new actor to take on the role – enter Roger Moore.
Taking over from Connery was no easy feat. Rather than copying his predecessor's iconic, tough-as-nails approach, Moore brought his own spin to Ian Fleming's secret agent. Known for his suave demeanor, effortless charm, and witty one-liners, Moore made the role his own. So much so that many fans still consider him the best James Bond to this day. Not to mention, he starred in more official Bond films than anyone else.
