Every Prestige Skin in Apex Legends, ranked

Prestige skins have been a part of Apex Legends since the third anniversary event all the way back in 2022, when Respawn debuted the very first prestige skin for Bloodhound. Prestige skins are rare items that can only be unlocked through one-time events or with heirloom shards, which means choosing one is an expensive choice.

Here’s our ranking of the very best and very worst prestige skins in Apex Legends, based not only on pure style, but on if the prestige skin truly represents the apex form of each Legend.

All Prestige Skins in Apex Legends ranked

17. Lifeline

A poor imitation of another Legend. Image via Respawn.

Unfortunately for Apex’s first medic, Lifeline has the worst prestige skin in the game. While other prestige skins, especially those released earlier, show a Legend in what could be their peak form, Lifeline’s skin is modeled after another Legend: Caustic.

Released in the Double Take event, which gave Legends skins made to look like other characters, Lifeline had the misfortune to be themed after the stinkiest Legend – noxious green and yellow, with an uninspired mask.

16. Bangalore

An unexciting pilot. Image via Respawn.

Bangalore’s prestige skin is one of the few in the line up that tries to look like a real Titanfall-inspired pilot, something later skins abandoned in favor of theming to events. While the idea is cool in concept, it led Bangalore to one of the more lackluster skins in both color and design (except for the final form helmet, which does elevate the whole outfit).

15. Bloodhound

More or less a standard skin. Image via Respawn.

Like Bangalore, Bloodhound suffers from being an earlier incarnation of a prestige skin. Their design is overly simple, though what puts them above Bangalore is the bold red that makes this hunter stand out.

Besides that, this Bloodhound skin looks like any old skin that could come out in any random event, which puts it solidly near the bottom of this ranking.

14. Pathfinder

The poor man’s Gundam. Image via Respawn.

As one of the original Apex Legends roster, and a sort of early mascot for the game, Pathfinder honestly deserved so much better.

Rather than show what Pathfinder might look like at his absolute peak, his prestige skin instead looks like a knock-off Gundam, which is made even worse since actual Gundam skins have been released since. Nothing about this design envokes what makes Pathfinder special, like his cheerful personality or love of boxing.

13. Mad Maggie

Salvo’s greatest warrior needs a new stylist. Image via Respawn.

One of the most aggressive characters featured in the Apex Games (which is saying something for a blood sport), Mad Maggie has always had an edge to her personality. For her prestige skin, it seems that designers tried to mix her biker-queen aesthetic with the standard futuristic pilot style, only to come out with a strangely mixed bag of outfits and a truly unfortunate hairstyle.

12. Octane

Why is he a shark? Image via Respawn.

What really kills Octane’s prestige skin is in its final form, Apex’s fastest Legend becomes a weird mix between Bloodhound and a hammerhead shark. Another victim of the event theming issue, Octane was part of the Urban Assault collection in early 2024 (which doesn’t really explain the shark motif) but it does explain the bright color palette chosen for his three outfits.

11. Valkyrie

A fun concept, but lackluster design. Image via Respawn.

Getting close to the top ten, prestige skins start to get much better, starting with Valkyrie. While nothing about her kit or personality truly screams “medieval knight”, her three tiers nonetheless do look very sleek and formidable. What puts Valk a little lower on the list is the lack of color, as any tier could be mistaken for a normal store skin

10. Wraith

A Wraith main staple. Image via Respawn.

Seeing a prestige Wraith skin probably means the player wearing it is about to bounce across the screen tap strafing their little heart out. This particular skin does inch more into the good side of prestige skins, especially with its fun blue and gold color combo, but the awkward first stage really pulls down the whole ensemble.

9. Alter

A good contender on a stylish Legend. Image via Respawn.

The issue for Alter, and why her prestige skin is ranked lower, is that her character design is already so cool that her skins are often a grade above all the other Legends. With that in mind, her prestige skin is well designed compared to other prestige skins, but when compared to cheaper skins for the character, it falls short.

8. Mirage

He blue himself. Image via Respawn.

For concept alone, Mirage has one of the best prestige skins in the game. Unlike other Legends that gain more armor and accessories as they level up through the tiers, Mirage sheds clothing until he’s down to a single crown, tiny wings, a golden speedo.

While the idea is very funny for an outwardly self-obsessed character like Mirage, it does look a little strange in actual matches, which knocks it down a few pegs in the rankings.

7. Wattson

A mash-up of pink retro gaming and Sailor Moon style dress. Image via Respawn.

Wattson has always been one of the cutest characters in Apex Legends – and while that part of her personality has been flanderized over the years – this prestige skin emphasizes the cuteness factor more than any other skin Wattson has ever had with its bubblegum pink, cat ears, and heart decals.

What puts Wattson higher on the list is that each tier of the skin is a very solid outfit on its own, especially the middle tier with its baseball cap and pink armor combo.

6. Horizon

A black hole personified. Image via Respawn.

Despite being released alongside a themed event, Horizon thankfully avoided the Lifeline treatment and received a skin themed more around being the walking embodiment of a black hole, which is a reasonable extension of her astronaut origins.

The final tier of this skin is what sets Horizon above the crowd, with her full masked crown, angel wings off her shoulders, and flowing red hair.

5. Loba

Basically Loba’s fursona. Image via Respawn.

Like the next Legend, Caustic, Loba’s prestige skin reaches the ideal of showing a Legend at their peak while maintaining the core of their identity. In Loba’s case, this means fully embracing the wolf persona she’s used as a symbol for years.

Tier two is easily the best part of this skin, which makes the final tier a little disappointing as the full wolf mask doesn’t entirely hit the mark despite the sleek design.

4. Caustic

Death incarnate. Image via Respawn.

If the idea of a prestige skin is to show a Legend at their absolute peak, or what they might look like as a pilot a la Titanfall, then Caustic may just have the very best. His three tiers all feature a heavily armored Caustic, clad entirely in poisonous yellow-green and black, with a skull screen added in the final two tiers.

While other prestige skin also include exclusive finishers which always elevate the whole package, Caustic’s gas spray straight from underneath his mask give him one of the most brutal and stylish prestige skin combos in Apex Legends.

3. Fuse

Ole Fusey at his peak. Image via Respawn.

The bombastic Legend from Salvo, Fuse has always had a particular Aussie style. This prestige skin delivers on that promise with a sleek black and silver biker style that evolves into a final form complete with mine-like shoulder pads and a magnificent beard.

What sets this prestige skin apart is Fuse’s eyepatch, or lack thereof. Fuse has an eyepatch in every single other skin, besides those with full masks, so seeing Fuse sans eyepatch makes this a singularly unique character skin.

2. Revenant

A vision of skeletal horror. Image via Respawn.

When it comes to cool outfits, simulacrums seemed to have cornered the market. For Revenant, that comes in the form of a skeletal outfit reminiscent of a long dead king coming back from the grave.

All three stages of Rev’s prestige skin are solid skins, especially the first stage with its Darth Maul head spikes and the final stage with the flared armor and beard-like helmet addition.

1. Ash

Beautiful, but terrifying. Image via Respawn.

Recency bias notwithstanding, Ash’s recent prestige skin is one of the best in the game and it’s difficult to see how any future additions could top it. Rather than go with an undead skeleton style like Revenant, Ash’s prestige skin looks like a biblical figure. Each tier features a pearlescent white with gold and pink highlights.

The final stage has Ash completely veiled by a white cloth like an angel of death, perfectly combining beauty and fear into a sublime prestige skin.
