Compared with the NFL Draft or the NBA Draft, the MLB Draft is a little bit different.
For starters, the draft happens midseason during the MLB All-Star break, rather than out of season. And because players selected seldom make it to the big league right away, instead playing for their franchises’ minor league teams until they’re ready for a bigger spotlight.
However, like in all drafts, some players absolutely live up to the hype, and some… do not. But no matter what, a player selected No. 1 overall in the MLB Draft will hold onto that honor forever, regardless of how their careers pan out.
