Every goal record Erling Haaland has broken aged 22 as Man City star sets new standard

Erling Haaland has already begun etching his name into football's record books despite not being 23 yet.

The Norwegian, who begun his career at Molde, burst onto the scene with Red Bull Salzburg before furthering his reputation at Borussia Dortmund. Now he's at Manchester City and has Premier League records in his sights despite playing just six games.

Like any big player, Haaland has also taken a liking to the big stage and it is in the Champions League that he has thrived. Scoring more than a goal per game, the forward has rose to the occasion in the knockout stages and will be eyeing European glory at the Etihad.

Records and Haaland appear to have gone hand in hand in recent years with the Norwegian already making his mark in England. He will no doubt have Mohamed Salah's haul of 32 goals in a single season in his sights before his debut year is up. We take a look at the records already belonging to the City star.

Prem fast starter

Haaland scored a brace on his debut at West Ham United before a scoreless outing against Bournemouth. After that though the forward began going into overdrive, notching one in the comeback draw at Newcastle United. Then came the first, of what is likely to be many, hat-tricks.

The City man bagged a treble against Crystal Palace at the Etihad, before doing so again against Nottingham Forest just days later. that gave him nine goals in his first five games in England's top flight - surpassing the previous record of eight, held by Sergio Aguero and Micky Quinn.

Double treble

Will this record ever be beaten? Scoring a hat-trick is tough enough, and achieving the feat is not something one does with regularity. That is unless you're Haaland who needed four games to score his first Premier League hat-trick and five games to score his second.

Prior to his arrival it was Demba Ba who needed the fewest games to score two trebles - but it took him 21 games. Former Leeds United marksman Tony Yeboah and Fernando Torres both needed 25 games.

Bundesliga pace

Starting fast is nothing new for Haaland - he did likewise when he moved to Dortmund. It seemed like it was scripted when he scored a hat-trick on his debut for the German side having come off the bench against Augsburg. He went on to bag seven times in his first three games, following braces in games two and three. That haul was a Bundesliga record.

Wasting no time

Haaland left the Bundesliga with 62 goals in two and a half seasons. Those strikes came in just 67 games which gave the forward a return of a goal every 87 minutes. That is better than the prolific Robert Lewandowski, who scores a goal every 100 minutes, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who notched, on average, every 116 minutes.

First to 10

When Haaland moved to Dortmund he had shown his appetite for scoring in Europe. He would score twice on his debut for the German side as they beat PSG in a knockout contest.

Prior to that, he'd been a star for the Austrian champions and he bought up his ten goal haul in just seven games, which was four games quicker than the previous record holder.

20 up

Haaland took seven games to score ten, so in keeping with that rate, it took him just 14 games to score 20, which smashed the previous record. Prior to that Harry Kane needed 24 games to score 20 goals with the likes of Alessandro Del Piero and Ruud van Nistelrooy needing similar appearances.

Quarter of a century

Last week Haaland bagged himself a brace in City's 4-0 win at Sevilla. That bought up his haul of 25, which has been achieved in 20 games - the quickest anyone has done so. His strike in the south of Spain also means the forward has scored on his Champions League debut for the third club.

Age is only a number

It is testament to how long Haaland has been scoring goals that he's managed to score for and against Dortmund after netting the winner this week.

At 22 years and 55 days he surpassed the previous record holder, Alvaro Morata, who had managed to notch for and against Real Madrid when he was 22 years and 194 days old.
