Every Bristol eatery with a food hygiene rating of zero or one

With dining out and taking away being a huge part of the Bristol scene these days, it's important we know just where our food has been prepared so we can best enjoy it stress free. The city and its surrounding areas has a wide variety of food options for the peckish Bristolian and visitor alike to sample - from Chinese and Indian staples, to homecooked pub grub or something a little more 'out there'.

At time of writing, there are currently a total of 33 establishments with a food hygiene rating of zero or one out of five here in Bristol. These restaurants, takeaways and shops received the lowest gradings in the Food Standards Agency's national food hygiene rating scheme after inspectors paid a visit.

The FSA scale goes from zero to five, with five being the mark given to places deemed as being the safest, cleanest and best. Inspectors from the council will pay a visit to asses the premises, looking at the handling, preparation, cooking and storage of food, with health and safety officers also checking the cleanliness and condition of the building housing the business, to make sure it is as safe as possible for customers.
