Everton vs Liverpool Postponed: Merseyside Derby Cancelled

This weekend’s Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool has been POSTPONED due to Storm Darragh lashing the region with gale-force winds and heavy rain.

Scheduled for a 12:30pm kick-off on Saturday at Goodison Park, the match is set against the backdrop of an amber weather warning issued by the Met Office, warning of “danger to life” conditions.

With the match officially confirmed as OFF on Saturday morning at around 8:45am.

Liverpool vs Everton Postponed With Amber Alert and Dangerous Conditions

The Met Office predicts wind gusts of up to 70mph across Merseyside from early Saturday morning until Sunday morning.

The storm has already disrupted other sporting events across the UK, with the Welsh FA postponing all matches this weekend and Plymouth Argyle’s clash with Oxford United cancelled due to the extreme conditions.

With the amber warning in place, concerns about fan safety and transportation logistics have taken centre stage. Everton and Liverpool released a joint statement urging attendees to exercise caution and allow extra travel time.

“Supporters attending Saturday’s Merseyside derby at Goodison Park are advised to allow extra time for travel and remain alert to Met Office weather warnings,” the statement read.

“Given the weather warning, fans are advised to allow extra time for their journey and take extra care.”
