The first Merseyside derby of the 2022/23 season is almost upon us as Everton prepare to host Liverpool in the Premier League.
Jurgen Klopp's side got the better of the Blues both home and away last campaign, winning 4-1 at Goodison Park and 2-0 at Anfield. Frank Lampard experienced his first taste of managing in this fixture during the defeat at the home of the Reds in April, with Saturday's showdown representing a chance to soak in the atmosphere on home soil.
Eight of the last ten encounters between the teams at Goodison Park have ended as draws, with the other scorelines resulting in away victories. Everton will hope this contest can kick-start their season into life as they await a first three points while Liverpool are looking to make it three consecutive wins in the top-flight after a shaky start.
