Farhad Moshiri sent blunt Frank Lampard and Everton relegation message
Former Everton striker Louis Saha believes it would be “a really silly move” for Farhad Moshiri to sack Frank Lampard and has warned “this club is not a casino.” Reports have claimed that Lampard’s position could already be under threat despite the 43-year-old having only been appointed on January 31 with Mr Moshiri travelling up to Finch Farm for his unveiling.
Everton’s Monaco-based owner sacked Rafa Benitez following a 2-1 defeat to basement club Norwich City and the Blues, who host Manchester United on Saturday, have subsequently lost under Lampard to Newcastle United and Burnley, who were both in the relegation zone at the time. If results don’t go their way this weekend they could be in the bottom three themselves by the time they next take to the field against Leicester City on April 20.
Saha has poured scorn over suggestions that Lampard could be dismissed though and told BoyleSports Football : “It's unlikely. I think it will be a really silly move and will show that the board has made a mistake again. They’ve made some bad mistakes. I come back to Lucas Digne, getting rid of him was a really bad move as he provided for the strikers.
