Everton U21 player ratings as Tom Cannon the hero and Ben Godfrey impressive in dramatic Mansfield win

Zan-Luk Leban - 7

Could do very little to keep Rhys Oates’ header out and made a couple of smart saves throughout the 90 minutes.

Ben Godfrey - 7

Completed his first 90 minutes of the season as he continues his comeback from injury. Produced a great tackle on the recovery late on to remind Blues supporters what they have been missing.

Reece Welch - 7

The standout performer from Everton’s back-three. Took control at the back and looked comfortable on the ball.

Joe Anderson - 7

Looked to drive Everton up the pitch in the second half and gave his side an extra option by trying to overlap when he could.

Roman Dixon - 6

Struggled to get into the game during the first half and was replaced at the break by Liam Higgins.

Stanley Mills - 6

A frustrating night for the youngster who, like Dixon, struggled to get into the game. Often found himself isolated and feeding off scraps.

Seb Quirk - 7

Produced a great bit of play when it mattered most. It was his ball that released Tom Cannon to score the winning goal of the game. Competed really well against an experienced Mansfield midfield as well.

MacKenzie Hunt - 6

Another who battled hard but spent more time defending than attacking. Replaced by Ishe Samuels-Smith with 20 minutes to go.

Isaac Price - 7

Another impressive display from the midfielder. He was constantly trying to get on the ball and make things happen. Will have impressed the scouts watching on.

Francis Okoronkwo - 6

A tough night for the forward, who was forced to feed off scraps. He battled hard but failed to register a shot on goal.

Tom Cannon - 9

Kept his composure when his big moment came. The winning goal was what his display deserved. His performance will have also impressed the scouts watching on from the Main Stand.

SUBS

Liam Higgins- 7

Another who kept his composure when it mattered most. Really impressed off the bench and offered the Blues a real attacking threat down the right.

Ishe Samuels-Smith - 6

Came on with 20 minutes to go, but failed to have any impact on the game. Found himself cutting inside a lot.

Katia Kouyate - N/A

On for Okoronkwo with the Blues chasing the game in the closing stages.

Owen Barker - N/A

Another who came on late with Everton chasing the game. Replaced Stanley Mills.
