Axel Witsel has had his say on Everton midfielder Amadou Onana and claimed that his international teammate is better than former Blue Marouane Fellaini in one specific quality.
The 21-year-old made the move to Merseyside from Lille in the summer and has wasted no time in becoming a mainstay in Frank Lamaprd's side in the early stages of the campaign. Alongside Alex Iwobi and Idrissa Gueye last time out, he was pivotal as Everton secured their first victory of the season against West Ham United before the international break.
The midfielder has also stepped up for his country over the course of the current break, building on his Belgium debut which came against the Netherlands in the summer. His latest match came against the same opponents, with the Blues star getting 75 minutes before being taken off.

Witsel, who himself recently admitted that he was close to joining Everton in the past, was asked following the game about the impact of Onana and how much he has impressed. Comparisons to Fellaini were also brought up, but the Atletico Madrid star believes that the 21-year-old is already superior to his fellow countryman in one particular aspect of his game.
DH Net report Witsel saying [via SportWitness]: “It went well with him [Onana].
“Amadou is strong, generous and a good listener. He makes good runs defensively and he infiltrates well.
“He is a player who will be useful. An air of Fellaini? Yes, but Amadou is better on the ball than Marouane."
