Everton are said to be interested in signing Wolves midfielder Leander Dendoncker and will 'explore' a move in the coming weeks.
The Belgium international has one year remaining on his current contract and is claimed to be 'appreciated' by the the Blues' board and manager Frank Lampard.
That's the verdict of Fabrizio Romano, who adds Dendoncker meets the criteria of an 'extra quality midfielder' Evertno are searching for.

It's clear that Wolves boss Bruno Lage is a big admirer of the 27-year-old, having heaped praise on his 'professional' attitude towards the end of last term. "I am very happy, also with Leander. I like to mention Leander when I talk about the midfielders because Leander is a fantastic guy and player, every time I need him he is ready. He is one of the best professionals that we have," he said.
The Blues could certainly benefit from reinforcements in this position and have already been linked with a move for Dendoncker's team-mate, Morgan Gibbs-White. The former is likely to command a lower transfer fee due to his contract situation and could therefore be a more viable option for Everton to consider.
