Everton loanee Tom Cannon is fully settled into life at Preston North End following his mid-season switch to the Championship outfit, but admits he still needs a goal to 'kickstart' his time at Deepdale.
The 20-year-old, who excelled for Paul Tait's under-21s during the first half of the campaign and scored seven goals in 11 Premier League 2 games, joined Ryan Lowe's promotion-chasing side on a deal until the end of the season.
Although unable to find the back of the net in his opening four appearances for the Lilywhites, Cannon has spoken of the ease with which he has adapted to life at Deepdale and is hoping to break his duck during this weekend's Lancashire derby against table-topping Burnley.

Speaking to the club's official website, Cannon said: “I’m really enjoying my time here. The boys are great, the staff are great, so I can’t complain.
“I just need the goal to kickstart. I’m happy with how I’ve played, obviously there’s little things you look back on and things you could have done better in certain situations.
“But, as I say, hopefully I'll get the goal and kick on from there.”
North End currently sit 11th in the Championship standings and the Republic of Ireland youth international is hoping the club's recent struggles in the league can be parked ahead of Saturday's short trip to Turf Moor.
"Obviously we’re looking for form,” continued Cannon. “It helps going into games coming off the back of wins.
“Obviously when you come in on the back of a loss it’s sometimes hard to pick yourself back up and get going again, but the lads do a good job of it to be fair.
“We’ve played a couple of games that we drew that maybe we should have won, or even lost that we thought we should have won.
“They’ve done well to pick themselves back up and get ready to go again.”
