Man dropped off at hospital on electric bike after Everton shooting

A man was dropped off at hospital on an electric bike following a shooting in the Everton area last night.

Police were called at around 10.30pm yesterday (Tuesday, July 21) after reports that shots had been fired in Everton Brow. It was also reported that an injured man had been sighted.

At around 10.45pm it was further reported that a second man had arrived at the Royal Liverpool Hospital with gunshot wounds. He is believed to have been dropped off at hospital on an electric bike, which made off down Prescot Road.

Road closures remain in place on Heyworth Street and Everton Road as the investigation continues and drivers are advised to find an alternative route.

Road closed and woman 'seriously injured' after being hit by car

A "seriously injured" woman was taken to hospital following a road traffic accident in Wirral.

Emergency services and an air ambulance attended the incident on Old Chester Road, close to Bebington railway station, at around 9.10am. Police have confirmed that a woman, believed to be in her 60s, was taken to hospital with a head injury.

The road closure was put in place around the railway bridge close to New Ferry and Port Sunlight. The driver of the Renault Kadjar, involved in the incident, remained at the scene to assist police.

Met Office sends new yellow warning of 'thunderstorms and torrential downpours'

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning.

Thunderstorms and torrential downpours are expected to hit England on Thursday, June 23. The Met Office expects the thunderstorms to hit the North West of England - with Cheshire most affected.

The Met Office said: "Thunderstorms are likely to break out in some areas, particularly during the afternoon and early evening. While most places will probably miss them, where thunderstorms do occur there is a chance that in a few places up to 40 mm of rain could fall in an hour or so and 40 to 60 mm could fall in two or three hours."
