Ex-Everton striker Kevin Campbell can see why his former club are in the hunt to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.
The Toffees have been linked with a £25million move for the talented English midfielder as Frank Lampard looks to strengthen his side ahead of the upcoming season. Competition for his signature is heating up with a number of Premier League sides keen on his services.
Wolves are seemingly willing to sell to a club in the same league for a player who spent last season on loan with Sheffield United in the Championship. The England Under-21 international has made 46 appearances in the English top-flight since making his debut back in the 2018-19 season and featured in the Europa League the following year.

Still only 22, there's still plenty of room for Gibbs-White to improve and Campbell believes that is a key reason as to why the Toffees should bring the player to Goodison Park - a move which would go against the recent trend of paying £50m-plus for a player who ultimately turns out to be a disappointment on Merseyside.
“I think Frank Lampard knows Morgan Gibbs-White," Campbell told Goodison News. “I think he’s a good young player, good quality, and I think Frank Lampard wants to build something with talented young players.
“Because if you’re going to go down the route of trying to sign, and we’ve seen Everton do it, players at £50-£60million you have to get it right every time. But somebody like that, English, 22, talented, you get more tries at it.
“And fans will be more willing to give you an opportunity. Plus, it’s somebody who Frank Lampard feels he can develop, that’s important as well. Not only is he a good player, but he’s somebody you can develop. So I like it.
“Hey listen, at the end of the day, you have to put the money down to get these guys. A good young player, like I say, you put £25million down, I don’t think anybody’s going to argue with that.
“Although he’s very sought after. That’s why it might be £25million because I think Nottingham Forest and stuff like that are looking.”
